Obituary: ""Morry"" William Morrison Cushing


William Morrison Cushing passed away on April 30, 1999 due to complications of aging.
Dad was born February 8, 1911 in Salt Lake City to Isabella Morrison and William Oren Cushing. "Mocu" or "Morry" was very active in all sports for many years. His Granite High Basketball Team took state in 1929; then went to take second in the national tourney. Dad was named to the All American Team that year. He attended The College of Southern Utah, Weber College, and Utah State, lettering in track, football, and basketball.He was the last surviving member of his family and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Madeline on November 23, 1998. Survived by his sons, John R.; Rulon; Roger; and Robert Cushing.
As a barber for many years in Bountiful and North Salt Lake he was kind of a "Pied Piper" and confidant for generations of kids. He was known in the community by his slogan, "Hair today gone to Morry." He was known as Santa to many and danced all over the country with Madeline. He will be missed by family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 So. 1700 E., Sandy, UT. In lieu of flowers give someone a hug!!
